I am loving this book for a few reasons.1: I am healthy but feel “hung over” often (I don’t drink). If I get my doctors to test for something all I hear is “Your test results are fine so you shouldn’t be having problems”. Modern medicine has its place but is failing me. I don’t want to take a pill for the symptoms, I want the problem fixed. Natural remedies have been helping so a friend gave me this book for this reason and…Reason 2: I have a reading disability and I have a hard time getting information out of a lot of books. This one is written in a clear-cut way that’s easy to understand. It is also written in a reference books form so I can skip what I don’t need right now, find what I do and in a few different ways. The information makes sense and what I have tried so far is actually helping
The book is arranged in easily accessible chapters that are informative about the essence of Chinese medicine to enable those of us not versed in the elements of this eastern medicine can learn and apply. Information about our bodies in the various seasons was of great value in understanding what we can do to enhance our own wellbeing.I have recommended this book to my chiropractor and her assistant who bought the book and really appreciate the wisdom and knowledge that Ms. Counts has acquired and shared in this informative book. I am also going to share this book with my massage therapist as those who are into healing and wellness embrace knowing more about eastern medicine and its uses and applications. It provides readers to take ownership of our health and wellness through this thoroughly informative book. In addition, the photographs are fantastic and add an additional layer of clarity to again, enhance the learning of Chinese medicine.
Everything this was good and no complaints,...........
Pros:Gets you started with basics of pantry items.Clearly defined explanation of the fundamentals of Chinese Medicine with examples of the use of the most common medicinal herbs.Clearly explains the hands-on-basic behavior of the 12 meridian system.Contains clearly written multiple appendicies with supplements and dossage suggestions.ConsMost of the nutritional information does not address the vegan diet, although it does address nutritional requirements for vegans.I summary, this is one of the better books on Chinese medicine. Accordingly I recommend the purchase of the book.
A terrific resource that's easy to work with.
